About Us


PCIMA is located in the city of Lucknow, which is the political and administrative capital of the most populous state of India i.e. Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow is also known as the Golden City of the East, inhabited by over 3 million people. It is about 500 kilometers from Delhi, the national capital of India and is well connected to it through road and railways. Known for its tradition, culture and cuisine Lucknow has emerged as an important city of North India. The city experiences warm cool, dry winters from December to February and dry, hot summers from April to June. The rainy season is from mid-June to mid-September. Coordinates of Lucknow are 27°51′N 80°55′E In order to bring Maritime education to the hinterland Centre for Maritime Education and Training (PCIMA) was established .PCIMA prides itself in teaching you what you need to know to be a competent Sailor/ Nautical Officer / Engineer Officer.



Campus and Residential facilities


The campus area is spread over 4 acres with facilities, parade ground for indoor and outdoor academic and extracurricular activities etc. PCIMA also has a large swimming pool (85x65x11 ft.) for swimming and water related exercises/drills. The institute building is of modern architecture with classrooms fully equipped with all the latest teaching aids like Overhead projectors, internet / WIFI facility ,Television sets/ over head projectors for Computer Based Training (CBT’s). The institute is providing excellent accommodation facilities for trainees. Institute have 22 air conditioned rooms available on single and sharing basis for officers and their families undergoing training at PCIMA. PCIMA also have 2 dormitories for candidates doing advance courses and 6 dormitories for trainees in basic and pre sea courses.



Courses


PCIMA, Luck now is presently offering 36 DGS approved courses including General Purpose Ratting course. OCCP and few other specialized courses are expected to start in the coming months. The details of all the courses are available separately in Schedule of courses.



Up-gradation Courses as per STCW 2010


With the advent and implementation of STCW 2010 Regulations, PCIMA has made required changes in the training curriculum and has geared up to start the following Up-gradation courses :
1. Advanced Fire Fighting
2. Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
3. Personal Survival Techniques
4. Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
